The Breastfeeding Atlas, Second Edition

Barbara Wilson-Clay, BS, IBCLC
Kay Hoover, M Ed, IBCLC
Breastfeeding Atlas book cover

The Breastfeeding Atlas, Second Edition, is even more outstanding than the first edition! 360 full-color photographs of mothers, babies, conditions, and real-life situations with accompanying text are assembled in a spiral binding, allowing the pages to lie flat so the reader can better see the detailed and high-quality images.

The fabulous text explains the pictures with mini-case histories, explanations, and references. Chapter 15 on Alternate Feeding Methods covers well-referenced, carefully considered clinical management concepts that simply do not exist in print elsewhere, and alone is worth the price of the entire book. I especially like the chapters with detailed explanations of exactly HOW to help parents “fix” breastfeeding problems. Even though I’ve been doing breastfeeding support work for three decades, I saw pictures of some conditions that were new to me, plus creative ideas for documentation tools. I consider this edition a “must-have” reference, even for those who already own the excellent first edition in book or CD format.

All 360 photographs from the second edition will be available on CD ROM in the summer of 2003. These images are 1152 x 768 pixels, 24 bit color JPGs. They may be used as a slide set would be, and may be imported into presentations for educational purposes. None of these images may be reproduced for mass distribution or sale.

The CD-ROM and text may be available elsewhere in more recent editions
